Hello, Friends and Songwriters:

Thank you for visiting my web site. I'd really like your comments on what you like, don't like or would like to see added to the site. Your opinion is very valuable to me. I'll personally try to respond to your requests.

On those days when I finish what I believe to be a hit song, I feel a natural high. Nothing can compare to that euphoric feeling that comes when you think you've written a hit. My Mama loved to write poetry and songs and I suppose some of her immense talent was passed down to me. There's not a day that passes that I'm not thankful to be able to intellectually create a song that has the capacity to affect people lives. Songwriting is a craft that I take seriously and something I'd do even if I knew no further commercial success would come my way. It's in my blood.

Over the years there have been mentors, advisers, teachers and idols of mine who have helped shape my musical direction.

In the beginning, Roger Bowling really "stepped" on me hard. Roger was a Hall of Fame Songwriter and writer of "Lucille", "Coward of the County", "Blanket on the Ground" and many other great songs. I probably wouldn't be a writer now if it weren't for him. He was a creative genius with words and only had a sixth grade education. He introduced me to Byron Hill who produced my record of "Scarlet Fever" and with whom I've written hundreds of songs. Byron has produced all of my albums and is the most creative person I know and at the same time is an astute businessman, but more importantly, a great friend. Visit Byron's web site at - www.byronhillmusic.com.

I also want to thank the other writers I've shared time with over the years, particularly Craig Wiseman, Danny Wells, Wayland Holyfield, Tony Pritchett, Rod Creagh, Aaron Barker, Darrell Hayes, Frank Cannon, and the late Kent Robbins for their contributions to our songs and my musical career.

Special thanks go to my family for their love, their support and their sacrifices that allow me to be me.
